WTF: #1

Posted by Roddykat in

Check this out. I was at a Midas getting my car checked out today. I was bopping along to some music I had with me when I saw one of the mechanics come from the service area. I looked at him and acknowledged his presence (because apparently you have to do that to people sometimes) and went back to my music. He did what ever it was he came in to do and went back out. Now, I was still facing towards the door to the service area but not really looking that way. When he went back out of the door, looked up just in time to pick up a lit cigarette off of the ground, glance back at me (and I guess he thought I wasn’t looking at him), and proceeds to TAKE A PUFF OF THE CIGARETTE! Then he goes on his merry way.

Now I’m sitting here TRIPPING on this for about 5 seconds and I’m wondering if I had a look on my face. I don’t know because the only other person in the room at the time was the receptionist and I don’t think she was paying any attention to me or him for that matter. After thinking that maybe he put the cig down in the first place(which I didn’t see), I almost wanted to rationalize it by saying that it was a concrete floor that was fairly clean looking…. Nope, that didn’t work because people still walked that area. Hell, I might have stepped in the very spot when one of the other mechanics called me out to check my car. I don’t know else that was besides nasty, but it was something. Come to think of it, I’m not even sure why I was fazed by it now. One for the books, though.

When I came to the current post, I asked myself, "Why did he name this WTH #1?" Only upon finishing the post, I learned why.....not only why, but what it stood for. I completely understand. That was a HOT mess!!! I wouldn't have been able to hold my face. He would have known that I thought what he just did was NASTY. He should have better home training than that. And my husband wonders why I don't want to move any further South. Ha! There's enough crazy people in NC.
